How do I know if my attic needs more insulation?
If your home was built before 2000, it's very likely your attic is below today's R-49 standard — insulation requirements have risen sharply since then. Other tells: uneven temperatures between floors, ice dams in winter, or a furnace/AC that runs constantly. Our free checkup measures it for you.
How much does a typical attic insulation job cost in Omaha?
For a 1,500 sq ft attic: a top-off averages $1,200–$2,400, and a full removal + air seal + reinstall averages $3,500–$6,500. Every quote we provide is itemized — no surprises.
Are there rebates available?
Yes. OPPD's Weatherization Rebate caps at $1,000 (combined with windows) and applies once per address every 15 years. NPPD customers in Gretna and outlying suburbs can claim $0.30/sq ft up to $600. Council Bluffs / Carter Lake homeowners on MidAmerican Energy have a separate rebate program. The federal 25C tax credit expired Dec 31, 2025. How long does it take to recoup the cost?
For a typical Omaha home, attic insulation and air sealing generally pay for themselves in roughly 3–7 years through energy savings — and the comfort upgrade is immediate.
Do you work in older homes?
Yes — and they're often where we add the most value. We work carefully around knob-and-tube wiring and balloon-frame construction common in pre-1950 Omaha homes. If we find vermiculite or any insulation that may contain asbestos, we'll stop work and refer you to a licensed asbestos tester and abatement company — we don't handle abatement ourselves, but we'll happily pick up after it's complete.
